Miley Ray Cyrus's birth name was Destiny Hope Cyrus. Tish Cyrus (mother) and Billy Ray Cyrus (father) brought her up in Thompson's Station. She is the eldest of five siblings. She has two younger brothers and sisters. Her name was chosen by her parents as they wanted her to achieve success. The nickname she was given in her childhood, Smiley, due to her infectious personality and cheerful personality, eventually became Miley. Her paternal grandpa was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus started school with Heritage Elementary School. At the age of eight, her family moved into Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus's father Billy Ray took a role in the TV series Doc (2001). At this point that Cyrus realized she was interested in learning to act as well. Her first performance was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). She also played an unimportant role in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus appeared in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show about a teenage woman who lives a double life as a singer) in the role of Hannah Montana, who is the protagonist. In this case, Cyrus' father also acted with the character. The show would go on to be a huge success. Tours which sold out, and merchandise agreements were also signed. Cyrus became famous as a teenager. After the success that was Hannah Montana 2006, Cyrus began to play other characters. She was Ronnie Miller and Lola alongside Demi Moore in The Last Song 2010 and LOL 2012.
